Help Japan 2011 Minimize

Following the disasters, earth quake, tsunami and nuclear alert, that hit Japan in March, pupils at school showed deep concern for the children of Japan in distress. The APEEE approached by the Japonese families at school responded to their call for solidarity by launching a “Help for Japan” action.

A Japanese stand at the school fête raised awareness to raise funds and proposed an origami activity to all interested. Children and parents tried their best to create delicate paper creatures and traditional objects. The Japanese embassy donated books and leaflets presenting Japan and it’s culture. Thanks to the generosity of our partners a tombola was also organized. The results of the draw on 10th June are published on our website. Donations were also collected during the music concerts of pupils of the periscolaire activities and the Dracula play by 1st -3rd year Drama Group.

A cheque for 4000 euros was handed to the Ambassador of Japan in Luxembourg on Monday 27 June 2011 in the name of all the school community by a delegation of pupils, parents and APEEE representatives.

We thank you for your generosity on this occasion.
